Learn to use a simple drop-spindle, & to process and spin whole dogbane stalks into fine or medium thread for sewing, weaving, or embroidery. Dogbane is an amazing fiber plant which grows wildly in abundance in the meadows and fields of this part of the continent.
Spinning is a meditative, simple, & magical art perfect for cozy indoor winter days. You may also like to try hand-twisting dogbane fiber into cordage (string).
We'll also learn about other local wild fibers, such as stinging nettle, wood nettle, and wild silk.
You'll go home with a length of handspun thread, & possibly a new obsession.
